This bathroom was completely remodeled with an all white colour scheme complete with a mixture of various marble types. Marble includes a pattern of carra marble, venato marble and callacatta marble. We sourced a home depot white freestanding vanity cabinet and placed a custom made carrara marble counter on top of it with undermount oval sinks. The beautiful, old barn on this Topsfield estate was at risk of being demolished. Before approaching Mathew Cummings, the homeowner had met with several architects about the structure, and they had all told her that it needed to be torn down. Thankfully, for the sake of the barn and the owner, Cummings Architects has a long and distinguished history of preserving some of the oldest timber framed homes and barns in the U.S.
Once the homeowner realized that the barn was not only salvageable, but could be transformed into a new living space that was as utilitarian as it was stunning, the design ideas began flowing fast. In the end, the design came together in a way that met all the family’s needs with all the warmth and style you’d expect in such a venerable, old building.
On the ground level of this 200-year old structure, a garage offers ample room for three cars, including one loaded up with kids and groceries. Just off the garage is the mudroom – a large but quaint space with an exposed wood ceiling, custom-built seat with period detailing, and a powder room. The vanity in the powder room features a vanity that was built using salvaged wood and reclaimed bluestone sourced right on the property.
Original, exposed timbers frame an expansive, two-story family room that leads, through classic French doors, to a new deck adjacent to the large, open backyard. On the second floor, salvaged barn doors lead to the master suite which features a bright bedroom and bath as well as a custom walk-in closet with his and hers areas separated by a black walnut island. In the master bath, hand-beaded boards surround a claw-foot tub, the perfect place to relax after a long day.
In addition, the newly restored and renovated barn features a mid-level exercise studio and a children’s playroom that connects to the main house.
From a derelict relic that was slated for demolition to a warmly inviting and beautifully utilitarian living space, this barn has undergone an almost magical transformation to become a beautiful addition and asset to this stately home.

The Bain Ultra Elegancia soaking tub echoes the shape of the vanity across from it in this St. Louis modern master bathroom remodel. The cherry wood tub surround is topped by Cambria Whitehall quartz, which moves into the glass-enclosed walk-in shower to form a bench seat. Both tub and shower have Hansgrohe chrome fixtures. The porcelain tile on the heated floor also moves up the walls, accented by iridescent glass tiles. Pella windows bring abundant light to the new space.

A very simplistic bathroom with detailed qualities. The seamless vanity top and cupboards are slick and contemporary reflective of the smooth edges of the sink. The large mirror is a great feature in this small space as it makes the room seem much larger. These elegant Orchid blooms are a natural choice for the bathroom, where they should thrive in the warm, moist air.

This bathroom is part of a main floor renovation and addition, which won the 2010 SAM Award for Best Home Renovation (With Addition). Mirror mounted faucets and unique brushed nickel vessel sinks, resting on a granite vanity top, add interest and detail to this gorgeous bathroom. Warmth is added with the NuHeat floor warming system installed under the Travertine flooring.

This exquisite bathroom remodel located in Alpharetta, Georgia is the perfect place for any homeowner to slip away into luxurious relaxation.
This bathroom transformation entailed removing two walls to reconfigure the vanity and maximize the square footage. A double vanity was placed to one wall to allow the placement of the beautiful Danae Free Standing Tub. The seamless Serenity Shower glass enclosure showcases detailed tile work and double Delta Cassidy shower rain cans and trim. An airy, spa-like feel was created by combining white marble style tile, Super White Dolomite vanity top and the Sea Salt Sherwin Williams paint on the walls. The dark grey shaker cabinets compliment the Bianco Gioia Marble Basket-weave accent tile and adds a touch of contrast and sophistication.
Vanity Top: 3CM Super White Dolomite with Standard Edge
Hardware: Ascendra Pulls in Polished Chrome
Tub: Danae Acrylic Freestanding Tub with Sidonie Free Standing Tub Faucet with Hand Shower in Chrome

This very small hall bath is the only full bath in this 100 year old Four Square style home in the Irvington neighborhood. We needed to give a nod to the tradition of the home but add modern touches, some color and the storage that the clients were craving. We had to move the toilet to get the best flow for the space and we added a clever flip down cabinet door to utilize as counter space when standing at the cool one bowl, double sink. The juxtaposition of the traditional with the modern made this space pop with life and will serve well for the next 100 years.

We designed this bathroom makeover for an episode of Bath Crashers on DIY. This is how they described the project: "A dreary gray bathroom gets a 180-degree transformation when Matt and his crew crash San Francisco. The space becomes a personal spa with an infinity tub that has a view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Marble floors and a marble shower kick up the luxury factor, and a walnut-plank wall adds richness to warm the space. To top off this makeover, the Bath Crashers team installs a 10-foot onyx countertop that glows at the flip of a switch." This was a lot of fun to participate in. Note the ceiling mounted tub filler. Our carpenters labored every detail from chainsaws to the finest of chisels and brad nails to achieve this eclectic industrial design. This project was not about just putting two things together, it was about coming up with the best solutions to accomplish the overall vision. A true meeting of the minds was required around every turn to achieve "rough" in its most luxurious state.
Featuring: Floating vanity, rough cut wood top, beautiful accent mirror and Porcelanosa wood grain tile as flooring and backsplashes.
