Yay finally finished and installed... Love the look. Had a modern pedestal basin before bathroom Reno. We have old 1903 cottage and like transitional look. After looking Around we found this old hall table second hand and lots of work waterproofing and coating and finishing and now we are able to use it. I love it!

It would be almost impossible to make it blond it has way too much red in the wood. My suggestion would be to get new chairs like the ghost it will automatically bring into the 21 st. century

Thank you for your comments. I really appreciate your help. I think we are on the same track. The rugs I have brought home have fought with the terracotta colour plus the busyness of the small tiles. I did come across this picture on Houzz, which I think looks good. What do you think? It would need some of that burnt orange from the chair upholstery as well as the aubergine to tie in but I liked the dark border line, it matched with the grout.
