Hey! Pendants often have a wonderful effect visually, but it is important to consider the use of the space too. Personally, I find myself doing my makeup in my bedroom when my partner is using the bathroom, so I would put more lighting in than just one pendant so this was not an issue!

With those lovely windows, the one pendant would be sufficient enough, but perhaps not at night. Test it out and consider whether or not you feel like there should be more/less light in the space in both day and night situations.

If the pendant is enough, I would just do that as I love a simple space, less bits the better.

Thanks! My question is - is one central pendant okay, or would it look funny as the bed is off centre in the room?

If it is central to the room, it will look fine. If you want a more symmetrical look - perhaps two pendants above each bedside table?

Thanks for asking this, I have the exact same light in my bedroom. Mine isnt as off centre but i do have the air con vent also. Ive been trying to decide what to get.

Is there a reason you couldn't turn the bed around to be opposite the door and the corner window.? I know beds across from doors is not supposed to be good but it looks like it would work well here. Get rid of the oyster - and consider a fan (depending on your location and whether you need it) and go for the lamps or hanging lights over the bedside tables. I've just put in a couple of mirror doors on my wardrobe and that has really lightened up the room too, reflecting the natural and unnatural(?) light - works well!

We have the ensuite and walk in robe on that side..

OK - that's not on the plan. Is it a warm climate - do you want a fan, as there are plenty of good and quiet ones on the market? (I know you didn't mention that but I put one in the bedroom, don't use it a lot, but from time to time it is a godsend.) Then get your mood lighting happening on either side of the bed and if you need more light you'll still have one in the ceiling...............

I live in Victoria so it’s pretty cool a lot of the year so wasn’t considering a fan but I’ll think about it! I think the choices to be made are 1) bedside lamps or pendants? And 2) central light, central fan, central pendant or some down lights.

I would choose either

1. bedside lamps & central pendant (if fan not necessity)

or

2. Pendands over bedside table & central light

If you don't think you would bump your head on pendant lights hanging over your bedside tables, I think that looks so elegant. Otherwise, I'm a fan of good table lamps on the bedside tables. By this I mean taller so you can actually read by their light, and be selective. Choose ones you will like for a long time. And if you can, install some downlights.

Hi Katrina, there's definitely a few options to choose from! Depending on the size of the room, you could install 2 or 4 down lights. We advise a down light every 2 - 2.5 meters. If you would still like a feature product, install a stylish ceiling fan.

The bedside pendant light is certainly a trend that’s enduring, and it’s likely to stick around for some time yet – it’s a style statement that offers so many benefits, both practically and aesthetically.
