yeah, I can't really imagine that. I mean, you don't change what you store in cabinets that frequently, in most cases, anyway, but most shelves have to be put in at a diagonal and then dropped down onto the supports...

I have similar shelf supports in my semi custom cabinetry in my laundry room. We adjusted the shelves per javiwa’s technique. It is a little cumbersome but have never been advised to remove the doors. Another option is to replace your tab supports with shelf supports similar to the pic below. Home Depot/Lowe’s sell a similar product. My custom cabinets used the below supports. Much easier to adjust shelves.

Call customer service at Thomasville/American Woodmark and see what they say. Sometimes the HD and Lowe's people just don't know enough about their product. It may be a gotcha by Thomasville or there may be a simple way to do this.

Good idea, javiwa. If you're going to change out the shelf pegs make sure you match the size. Take one with you when you go. The little peg part is a certain mm. It should be pretty easy to do.

Yes, good call, Carolina. Even if the mm (pin diameter, I think) matches, the pin part that gets inserted into the cabinet holes comes in varying lengths.

The shelf support javiwa posted is exactly what I have seen at Home Depot/Lowe’s. Used them several times.

Never understood the motivation for the clips that hold the shelf from the top.

We use regular metal pegs. They seem not only just as good, but better.

I was told the clips keep shelves in place during transport -- makes sense, unless there are companies that ship shelves separately.

We keep adjustable shelves outside of the unit for transportation, and professional movers will typically also make sure that any removable shelves are out of furniture if they can.

A clip is nice if you might bump a shelf and make it jump -- just feels more secure. Not usually important once all your stuff is in there...
