The oxidation, or rust, does not shed off in chunks. However, what we have seen is that the rust will form a "halo" on brick and stone around the fire pit.

Thank you. Is there a protective coating that could be applied that would prevent the rust from forming the "Halo" on the surface it would sit on such as this from Everbrite?

Does it arrive in one piece bowl and mounting or is assembly required? What is the diameter of the mounting part on a 41" Stellar?

We are not familiar with any protective coatings. It is a two piece welded design with no assembly required.
