Despite previous opinions I have to say this - DON'T GET DOWN LIGHTS!!!! We had them in our previous home. They were constantly blowing no matter what kind of bulb used. The casings kept breaking. This meant we couldn't just change the bulb ourselves. It drove me mental. They spotlight certain parts of a room instead of lighting the whole room so when one of our main "culprits" kept blowing in the kitchen, I had no lighting above that bench until we could get an electrician in. More than one electrician told us they are a serious fire hazard. I will never have them again!

Hey! Great space! The table is too small for the space, it would immediately help if you had head chairs on either end of the table. It would read larger. If you're interested in a new dining set, try a round dining table, seating at least 6 for size. You need something to define each space, a new furniture arrangement could help. I would try rotating the sectional so that its off of the window. Good Luck!

Wall sconces are for additional lighting mostly decorative you need ambient light, task light and decorative light in a space the downlights are the best way to get ambient light which the allover light you need then lamps for reading or any task that requires good close lighting and then your sconces

Um why ? I'd do a coffee table , and have the light maybe 1 metre or less from the ceiling . The second one I'd just balance the first one , so if the first one is say 2.5 metres from one wall , hang the other 2.5 metres from another wall . The lights are really nice -- you would want them to be seen , rather than highlighting a couch IMO .
