Study/spare bedroom help!
Comments (3)Hi Ju, I looked at your idea pics and they are all very light and neutral. This room doesn't seem like it is really you. If I am on the right track, I would recommend a colorful area rug, a light colored cover for the sofa bed and a colorful throw over the back. A row of framed prints or photos (18" square or close to that size - not too small) on that wall would give more life to the room as well. Two white filing cabinets could flank your desk along with a sleek white leather/chrome chair. Need to brighten it up!...See MoreBedroom ideas please
Comments (9)no problem, so are you saying that wall is closest, but stronger, do you think it might like a smokey teal? that is very in right now, or is it like the grayed out turquoise on the coverlet? Grey would be a wonderful accent with that. Have you thought of making your headboard? So amazingly simple? Give yourself like a nice padded gray? Could go for a silk or velvet? oh do you have dark hairy people? you know like black retrievers or something? that could be a problem. If you put covered buttons, there is actually a little tool (under $10 does it all for you. really glam it up. do these help? I think i would go with light gray or a variation of the wall color. let me know when you are ready for more. Couple ideas for bedside stands, first 2 less than $100, last one idea for alternative....See MoreIdeas for bedroom wall art
Comments (7)Nice reno :) Few things imo... don't think you need any artwork next to the hexagonal mirror, it could get too busy, if you're after a more balanced look I would move the chest of drawers & mirror to the left more centered on the wall, then relocate the white rack to the other side near the door in place of where the bin is now, not sure the bin should be a feature and be the first thing you see when entering the room, if the drawers have moved that far corner may now be better for the bin... yes the wall above the bed definitely needs some artwork, which I think should be as wide as or wider than the bed, if a large artwork is too costly maybe three squares alongside each other to create the width, stick with the style of the room (can't quite work it out) and pick colours to complement the more permanent fixtures like the blinds rather than colours from the bed linen etc which will change...See MoreDo indoor plants work in the bedroom?
Comments (1)I have plants all through my home and yes most certainly plants work in bedrooms. Go for some thing that adds a statement whether it be a small violet plant, a succulent that produces masses of flowers, a fern to add grace and movement or a taller statement plant - or be like me and go for all types - especially those that flower. I am in my late 40's and have been a plant fan all my life. I have had to let some go over the years but I still have one plant from when I was 12 and it is massive - people do not understand what I mean when I say I spent hours pruning my indoor plants. Plants indoors and out are fantastic....See Moredrsaj
