Outdoor lighting pendant?

Looking for a large pendant to use for outdoor lighting in damp & swampy South Florida. Will be in a covered location. How do I tell what will hold up well & what won’t? It will be hung high on front porch with tall, tall ceilings. We won’t be going up there very much.

Would this light work? If not, I will take suggestions! You must make sure that it will not sway in any breeze. That is why you see a lot of out door pendants that have 3 ties to them to keep them from swaying and moving.

That light fixture isn’t rated for a damp location.

When you're doing lighting in a kitchen it's a good idea to have good directed light over the main tasks areas, cooking, dishwashing, food prep. You could achieve this with downlights directed at those areas, or track lighting where you can direct/angle each of the lights on the track. Re the pendant over sink area, would need to be at a height that ensures safety - water & electricity, not a good combo. There may be some NZ standards that you can refer to, to get the correct info.

I love three in ones because if one bulb explodes, you've usually got a fair few backups before you have to completely fix the bulb (but that's just the laziness in me coming out). In my opinion, I don't think you need a demisting mirror because that's what the fan is for in the three in one.

Um why ? I'd do a coffee table , and have the light maybe 1 metre or less from the ceiling . The second one I'd just balance the first one , so if the first one is say 2.5 metres from one wall , hang the other 2.5 metres from another wall . The lights are really nice -- you would want them to be seen , rather than highlighting a couch IMO .

Make sure to look for lights that are labeled "damp location rated" or "wet location rated". Those lights are designed to be used outdoors (damp = covered areas only, wet = all outdoor areas). Our selection of outdoor ceiling lights and outdoor hanging lights includes lights that can fit the bill.
