Also what type of cladding would anyone suggest?

I'd like to suggest that the most important thing here is more about who is using the room. If It's a child's bedroom use lovely children's curtains - there's so much around and any pattern could pick up the wall and floor colours. If a guest room and not used often I'd suggest a beautiful velvet or good quality Linen and forbid the little ones from going in to that room!!!!!! alternately a blind attached at floor level could be raised or lowered so the view is still there but with privacy from waist height perhaps. My last household purchase was new sliding doors to the outside from my dining room. This then led to the building of a deck, new railing on said deck and existing terrace, new blinds as the old window length curtains no longer did the trick, then the paving stone path to the deck from the garden gate, some new planting to accommodate that, AND outdoor lighting for what has now become an alternative entrance to the house! Oh, and painting as well. So I can liken my last purchase to a bit of a triffid - it kept growing! But SO worth it! It has added another room/space to my house, increased light and warmth, added value and created a more welcoming entrance than before. Love it!

Everyone has some valid points and so I would also recommend moving the clock to the kitchen wall and place the wall unit under the mirror. Centre with the table with the additions of some artwork each side if the clock with wooden frames to match the clock. Find a low piece of glass or pottery or a runner to tie in the grey shades. I presume u have a grey lounge suite. Change the lighting as to what was suggested by People Space ARchitects.
