BELGRAVE MEWS---the bathroom decorations--the hot air balloons etc--are these TILES or are they applied to the wall in some way? And where do you buy them! Love the house and the kitchen shelves in particular! Thanks, judith
Hi They are Italian tiles called 'Machinne Volante' Flying machines from R.I.M tiles, Design Centre Chelsea wharf London: http://www.rimdesign.co.uk/ Thanks, glad you like the rest of the house, JB
...or any other if the fittings and fixings which are chrome! I would have loved to have all one metal finish but unlike many of the other steampunk images and bathrooms on this ideabook; this particular bathroom was not a brand new creation; just the tiles and copper shelves were added and it needed to be kept in use through out the refurb. As much as I agree it would look better all one metal finish throughout; the copper piece stands out more so against all the white and chrome for good or bad, perhaps I should get it chromed! The primary objective of the whole refurb was creative and cost effective reuse and repurposing of existing materials, not a steampunk theme, so replacing all the perfectly good existing chrome fittings with ones of copper didn't sit well from a sustainability point of view, not when we were reusing all floor timbers, copper pipes, forming bookshelves out of the old spiral stairs elsewhere etc...
