Travertine

Lovely patio. 1. What color travertine did you use? 2. What was the thickness of the travertine tiles/pavers? 3. Did you use a sand base or a rebar-concrete base? 4. Did you use polymeric sand or grout for the joints?

Thank you for the compliment and wonderful questions.

    1. This travertine is a 2-color blend of 1/2 'Noce' and 1/2 'Cream'. As travertine is a natural product and is acquired from different locations, colors and names change over time and area as the veins they are mined from produce different tones and looks.

    2. These travertine pavers are 3 cm (approximately 1 1/4") thick.

    3. We use a sand base for all our travertine and concrete pavers unless engineering or site conditions require improved fortification.

    4. The field joints have sand. The border is mortar set to create invisible, clean joint lines while ensuring the travertine stays where it is meant to.
