For those with a servery window with Gus strut in kitchen, how far did you extend your kitchen bench into the alfresco? 200mm? We are specifically getting Gus strut opening as bifolds do not form the seal we want with our double glazing
It is called a GAS strut, and 200mm to 300mm from edge of external wall should be enough. You want to be able to have the gas strut window closed and still have enough room externally for food trays, drinks etc.
Also take into account the width of your benchtop material. You’ll save money and avoid a join if you can stick with a standard size. So a manufactured stone will be about 900ish so with a standard benchtop about 610mm-ish you have up to 290mm to work with.
If your bench is much deeper than 900 you may need to go outside to wipe it down. Don’t forget to allow for wall depth and where window will sit in your cons
