There are tons of papers available that would go with your midcentury home. Many people tire of a paper quicker than they are ready to redecorate and they can also look dated in a couple of years. Metallic papers were big im midcentury...perhaps a metallic silver paper? Are you also considering paint? You can get it in so many textures and a blue wall to match the blue in your loveseat would be lovely with some midcentury art and sculpture, or photographs on it. A mirrored wall with or without art or sculpture would also work with midcentury. These treatments are easier to adapt should you wish to change the look slightly from time to time. I would suggest replacing your stairrail with chrome or acrylic if that is in the budget...see how well the loveseat frame looks with the fabric? There is a limit to how many photos can display with a single ideabook. Your best bet is to break down any really large ideabooks into some smaller, more specific topics. To do so, go to your ideabook via the Houzz website, click Edit, then from there you can select photos to move and create a new ideabook for them straight from there. Hope that helps!

I have recently brought an older home and stripped the wallpaper as I didnt like it. It is lath and plaster on walls and ideally I would like to be able to paint the walls without wallpaper. A gibstopper said he could do a skim coat to even it up a bit but couldnt guarentee the old plaster cracking down the track. My options are 1. skim coat, prime etc and then paint 2. Put a wallpaper/lining up and paint or 3. Reline walls with GIB so I can get smooth painted finish as desired. What have people done or would recommend???

We have a 1980 home which - in its day - was covered in a plethora of wallpaper . The last owners decided to paint over the wallpaper with a very inexpensive paint (also not the best quality). How can I upgrade the wall - sanding, cleaning, etc … to have the best result? And what type or brand of paint would you suggest? Also, they loved a variety of “whites” resulting in an inconsistent palette! Any favourite white suggestions are appreciated!!
