Space is 1420 between the vanity and the wall. Depth wall to door is 670. Ceiling height 2430. Machine is 850 high , 590 deep and 600 wide

If I’m reading your description correctly, and looking at your plumbing placement, I would not step out the laundry sink or cupboard. How deep is the vanity? Your bathroom/laundry doesn’t look wide enough to then have a storage cupboard on the opposite wall. There will minimal space for drying yourself, sharing the vanity and using appliances. Also placement of light switches?? Are they going to be covered by dryer?

Thanks for the ideas - I think that the laundry sink could be as deep as the vanity but I’ve been told no by some people. If the dryer was higher it may not cover the light switches -

Vanity height is 32 from the floor , depth 47 and length 1000

@Kate, from the information in the original post…..there is the vanity in photo, then a laundry sink, then a cupboard, then the washer and dryer. I agree, this should of been one long bench with all items included along that bench.

What height is top of vanity?

Constructive advice: Keep laundry cupboard 75-100 mm from vanity. It will need to go to floor to hide waste. Keep it same height and depth as vanity till it goes up and out for washer. I’d actual consider using tile for beach top to match either vanity or floor tiles and go a laminate to match the tile grey and do this on bench as well. Basically not make a feature of laundry, as the feature is vanity
My dryer is not as Depp as my washer so hopefully your light switches are not in way. Not end of world if you have to move it as long as you have spare tiles

Please don’t apologise - all your suggestions are practical and thought out .. the cupboard that you’ve drawn above would have to have a sink … would you suggest keeping the look of the ceramic or under mount it ?

I would go undermount stainless. Again because I think your vanity should shine. I have attached a pic of my laundry which is in my bathroom. I have flush mount. But my laundry is hidden behind sliding opaque glass doors on opposite wall to the bathroom fixtures

Do you have to have a laundry sink? You could do vanity, tall floor to ceiling panel, narrow base 200 cabinet, washer, dryer to doorway wall with benchtop and mirrored cabinets on the wall. The tall panel to be same depth as washing machine.

A bit like this, a narrower wall panel flush against the vanity, with benchtop on appliances . Imagine the window as your doorway. Having the appliances side by side will be less bulky and give you a longer extra vanity space. We used Laundry baskets on wheels in the bedrooms instead of storing in the laundry when space was tight

OK. consider a narrow deep sink next to the solid panel but I don't think you will have enough space. 1420 Washer 590, dryer 600, wall panel 25, 1215 would only allow 205 wide for sink space. Why must you have another sink, you have a shallow wide vanity sink, I use a plastic bucket for soaking things as extra in my laundry

The option is to stack the washer dryer next to the door and still add a tall panel next to your vanity to work with the extra benchtop depth of the laundry

I would like to not have a sink but it’s not good if I ever want to sell … I was also thinking as others have mentioned to stack the appliances and wondered if a tambour door might conceal these ?

I agree with you regarding have both a vanity and a laundry sink. You already have the plumbing set for both. If you build the laundry trough, cupboard and washer area out to 600mm deep, how wide is the room? Would this leave enough space for everyday use of room. With having the vanity only 470mm deep, if you have the laundry cupboards that deep, this will restrict the size of trough. This photo attached is a good size trough and will fit in a 600mm bench. Also, in some states I’m sure it is under the health act that you must have a separate sink and trough in a combined laundry/bathroom.

Just for more info. You can purchase these combo sinks. You already have your vanity and plumbing installed so probably won’t work, but just letting you know these are available.

A possible idea to cover the laundry

Yes you already have plumbing in place which is also needed for a washing machine. If you are building for yourself I would forgo the extra sink to allow the washer dryer to be placed side by side with a benchtop and wall cabinets for storage these cabinets can also be mirrored for hair and makeup.. I'am guessing that your bathroom is approx 1800 wide and the narrow vanity was to allow for access to the toilet

If you don’t want to see the washer have the door swing against it.

You could swing the door back towards the washer dryer but that would mean you would need to close the door to use the machines which would be awkward .

The door is a slider … does anyone think that a tambour door could work to cover the appliances - they would need to be built into a cavity though ???

Personally I would leave it uncovered. It is what it is. Spend the money on Nice basket and detergent caddy

The featured blind would fit better, be more affordable and softer it will also cover your machines if they don't match. I would prefer the laundry open if done correctly, a place for everything as laundries can become very untidy

Absolutely

A couple of laundry mock ups with your washing machine under bench with the dryer wall mounted, One has the washer and dryer on the RH side, the other has the washer next to the sink for better connection. This will give you a good benchtop, a lower dirty linen draw, with a wall unit for laundry materials (could be mirrored).

I find it better in tight situations to have a smaller sink cabinet to keep all the messy plumbing together it's not much good for anything else

It’s just a hollow core door - it’s the entry door to the bathroom - just from Bunnings
