weird shaped room

I’ve got this weird shaped area sitting off the back of my living room - I’d previously used it as a study nook but decided to move my office into a spare bedroom for “separation” purposes. Now I’m left with a giant gap in my living space.
I am thinking about a reading area but also keen on ideas for how to use it as a conversation / lounging area when entertaining - but noting I’d need room for 4-6 people in that case.
Open to any and all ideas at this stage! I’m so stuck. And bonus points for photos!

last yearYou could try a curved sofa or oversized curved chair, curved furniture will detract from the odd shape, even large fur bean chairs, add shelving and artwork, a gorgeous lamp for reading, cushions a throw and textured rug to make a beautiful relaxing space.

Comments (4)I would move the two chairs against the wall with the table between for a "side" seating area... which can still see the t.v. (needs some baskets or something under that table... a trunk maybe...to bulk it up). Then make an L shape with the other couch/loveseat that you have. You also have great storage along the tv wall but it's kind of bland... punch it up with a color along the back of the bookcases or a funky wallpaper. Drapes for a punch of color with some other accessories and you'll have a gorgeous room. Comments (5)A few simple steps can give your room a lot more vibe! Try pairing the drapes with sheer curtains, that will give the window more depth. The tv wall could be your accent wall, a dark blue would actually work very well. If the TV has backing, I would hang it on the wall, a few inches above the furniture piece. The two frames above the white dresser should go below the wall clock. Instead, a large art piece (about the length of the dresser) would complement that wall much better. I would also replace the coffee table with a rectangular, heavier glass and metal table, placed in the center. Also pillows. Pick up colors from your art work and the accent wall and use those to find pillows to decorate your sofas. last yearI’d buy a small round table and 4 comfy chairs to sit around it. I’ve done this in my lounge room. It gets used for a games table for the kids. I’ve used it to have lunch with my girlfriends instead of the twelve seater family table. It’s so much more special. Intimate dinner parties for 4. Card games etc. Also extra lounge chairs for entertaining in lounge room have come in very handy. I’ll include some pictures from Pinterest.
