Without doing major work , its always going to look like that . I think its quite pleasant , but all I'd do is those 3 uprights , I'd paint in white . It'll make it look more balanced IMO .

Going black and white may make it look like a 1960's police car haha -- it doesn't suit the style IMO .

I don’t mind it. You can’t change the slope so I’d make the garden a feature with a decent amount of plantings and then the house becomes more of a hidden treasure behind the garden.

PS if you paint the right side black it will receded further, whilst white will pull the left side further forward making it look more lopsided. Often smaller houses look best with simple colour schemes.

What is hanging over the door? Is the door off centre to the gable and path?

There is nothing wrong with your home, in my opinion. Current colours are good. Just do some interesting landscaping.

Agree, add an edgy contemporary garden, you have the hard landscaping that you can add lush planting , a water feature, elements that will add interest and compliment the lines of the house and it will look great.

I quite like the mid century style and there is really nothing wrong with the existing colour scheme. The problem is that the terracing on the left cuts the house in half so that it appears to be too squat. Unfortunate so really only thing to do is as already suggested and plant up the terrace closest to the house. Landscaping should make a huge difference as it's quite plain looking at the moment.

White door making the house looking welcome. Great planting in a limited palette and variety. Two big round plain white tubs at the top of the steps would cap off a sophisticated mid century home.

One other thought -- you said you are removing the trampoline . Can I ask why ? I think it balances the house to a certain degree .

But if you are removing it , what are you going to do there ? A roof and poles to suit the 'mismatched' left hand side will almost certainly be in 5 figures , but it will balance the place , and you might do an outdoor kitchen or similar there , make it part of the house , look more balanced .

What about if you reversed the proposed colour scheme? Paint the right side white and the left side dark charcoal. This would bring the right side forward and recess the left side somewhat balancing things.

I just think it needs landscaping. I'd get rid of all those flat areas of lawn. In this arrangement they only encourage the "looking over the house" feeling you get from your front.

I would go for bushier plantings instead and incorporate some of those psth ideas others have shared

I would be so excited to paint this house a dark charcoal to even further blend it in to its surrounds but keep the white trims.

Consider some lush planting with leaves and height where you have the succulants now and turn the tramp space into a private alfresco area.

A light timber or brightly painted door will give it some character too.
