Yes I’d remove kitchen soffit and have pendant lights as feature over island. Door swings fine
I’d keep the slider as is but consider whether you really need the slightly wider opening. I have triple but a slightly wider width. Door swings fine but make the garage door glass.
I think you need bigger eaves on west end of house. The alfresco will cop the hot afternoon sun in summer and this will reduce is use particularly with bbq in there adding another heat source . Add a ceiling fan to that area
In terms of windows you are not making best use of northern light. First work out what area have to be obscure to prevent overlooking make more use of higher windows to avoid needing obscure glass. In dining relocate rather than remove the northern window. Can the desk be in that front living space instead?

Many thanks for your time. My right side neighbour is single storey and left side neighbour is double storey so I kept most of the bed rooms in right side so no issues with bed room window privacy. Please advise how can I best use of northern light further. Planning to remove the backside bedbedroom side windows and keep it in backyard side to have backyard visibility from top. To get more northern light into living area….remove the benches completely in the dining room. The space is made smaller with those benches taking up a room in the dining room. If you need 5 bedrooms, then I would assume a large dining setting would be wanted also. Install a full window on that wall….the winter sun will shine through. The front living area at the entry is basically a large entry foyer. I would put your working bench in that room. Away from the noise of the kitchen/living area.
Remove the bulkhead over the island.
Personal preference with stone on front pillars, up to you. What colour brick are you having. Too many colours in facade is not advisable.
With a sliding glass door, one side is always a fixed window not a door. 2 glass panels, one fixed one sliding. Therefore with 2 panels will open up half of exit. Changing the exit to stackers doors with three panels would give you one fixed panel and two sliding panels. Therefore opening up two thirds of the exit.

Changing the back upstairs windows to face the back yard would be problematic. The western sun will need to be stopped on the external side of window otherwise the bedrooms will get very hot in summer.

Maybe too late….but I would flip the back of ground level shown with the purple lines. Then install large windows in living area and dining area to get the winter sun. The utility areas are therefore on the south side. perfect.

i thought flipped plan initially but bec i want narrow pathway from entry to dining (dont like bend), also cannot fit the bedroom in right side so i did like this.

both me and wife is working from home. she used to work, cook and teach kids at same time. so placed bench in dining to have working desk for her. i kept my desk in front lounge area.

reason i want windows facing backyard view is to watch my kids playing in backyard from first floor bedrooms. may be i will add external awning on top of western window to avoid this west sun.

mostly i will go for 2 color choice (dark gray and lite gray) in facade. stone will be based on cost will decide.

Hope these preferences wont be a major issue based on orientation perspective :-)

Thank you for your explanation regarding your choices. We do not know your situation when offering suggestions, so explaining your choices helps. Yes external blinds on Western windows would be good. Since you require the desk bench in dining room, I would still install the biggest window possible for that wall.

my suggestions include some variations to exclude some of the built in storage in favour of more standing room in the pantry, and more generous storage and study nook in family room, there's an island sink and different fridge location to make it less crowded in the kitchen and more space in pantry for appliances and/or an extra fridge or freezer, extra access to under stair storage, alt garage storage (pending size of garage and cars?) study areas in dining, lounge and family rooms and i've reduced size of master in favour of more generous upstairs shared bathroom, ens, wiw and extra general storage and bigger vanities provide extra storage for linen plus wall cabinets for toiletries in all bathrooms.. western window can be easily screened with external shutters ( electric roller shutters?) and highlight windows would make it easier to add wall cabinets in kitchen and dining without compromising privacy, pushing the barbq out would create a little more space in the alfresco and i've added alternate options for water tank and AC to allow for a bigger window in family room
