How do you make a meadow garden?
Comments (9)You probably don't need to turn over the soil--probably shouldn't on a steep slope. Talk with your local experts about the best way to convert your paddock. Maybe there are enough native wildflowers growing in there that you could manage by not mowing. Here in the US Midwest we often solarize the soil by covering it with clear plastic sealed all around--this takes a full summer. I have also killed grass by covering it with a tarp for a whole year. For paths I have just laid newspaper, wetted it, and then covered it with mulch. So, it really depends on how big the area is that you are considering. Do find an expert on your area....See MoreHow to display Stereo & TV hardware
Comments (6)If you are going to the effort of retiling the fireplace surround, would you consider going to a bit more effort and creating a full wall unit which incorporates the fireplace and the TV, with extra shelves and cupboards to display and store? (I also have reservations about the heat and the TV and associated wiring.) This may also address the lack of symmetry associated with the location of the fireplace, if that is a consideration. Do you use the fireplace often enough to justify keeping it? Alternatively, a wall unit on the left hand wall, which is where the power and TV points seem to be, may be the best solution - as previously suggested. All the best....See MoreFamily room help!
Comments (4)Just some ideas to think about? Uber big arc light Round uber big leather ottoman Long floor to ceiling curtains with print or color 4 inch trim on either side of the panels hung between the windows. Art work set in the cubes similar but different, as in perhaps, musical instruments, African masks, Art Deco Lallique vases, anything that reflects You translated into art. Back cubes with mirrors and put puck light in the top of each for nighttime drama and to light the art work. A large Fiddle Fig tree as the trendy green this year. Possibly smoked mirror above the TV screen as big as the cut out. Bring it on....See MoreHow do we furnish?!
Comments (2)Move your existing furniture in initially , and see what layout works for you . Then if you want to change the style/colour , just shop around for what you like . There isn't much 'furniture' ( I would take that as a positive ) , and lounge suites are fairly universal . Personally , there is no way I'd have those doors non-opening -- they are the main feature IMO . So I'd use the existing setup as a guide -- the TV angled in the corner , couches around the edges . Then add what you want style wise -- a rug , a coffee table , a TV cabinet , presumably in French provincial off-white ( maybe not the rug haha ) ....See MoreNicole Forina Home
