Hello! Looking for some help choosing a pool location…. Hopefully my images make sense. I have numbered 3 locations as 1, 2 or 3 and labelled north, south, east, west….
I would put the pool where you can see it from the house, there’s something about looking at water, even when it’s not in use , but it’s always safer if children are around to be able to see from the house. You need to think about how much space around the pool you would like for things like sun loungers, umbrellas etc, and then consider your pool fencing around it. You need to allow for sufficient distance from the house for required clearances and it is probably a good idea to talk to a local pool builder as to regulations for distance from foundations. As far as the orientation goes, north sun will warm the pool, the western afternoon sun will be partly shaded by the house which will be great for relaxing by the pool
My understanding is: the pool must be the same distance from the home as the depth of the pool. If your pool is 1500mm deep, then it must be 1500mm from the home. However, that is more suburban blocks. In your case there may be electrical or plumbing running underground near the home. 3 metres from home may be better, but you need to locate all your underground utilities. This may make the decision for you. But I would be positioning the pool with in sight lines of the internal areas of home.
Agree with @Kate / vote for 2. assuming your main living aspect and access is looking out to the East….a house floor / site plan would help clarify….also double check for any easements or sewer or sw mains assets along the boundary
