Small backyard/pool renovation - help needed
Just bought a house, its lovely and has loads of potential - needs a bit of work though! Can you tell me what you'd do with this pool/outdoor area? Kitchen overlooks it, living areas open out onto it. Could be great, would hate to get it wrong. Thanks for any ideas/inspiration!

Comments (2)A nice whitewash wall/paint treatment would brighten it up if done in a light color. Or I would paint it but not sure if all the knots will bleed through? If so then I would use an oil base Kilz to stop bleed through and paint it depending on the interior design I want for each room. Comments (7)I would clean up first. Especially the stuff growing in the paving. Then get gardening with pot plants and start experimenting with different plants and the positions. See what you like and if you can keep it alive! Our house has the sun setting over the back fence and we've done a few inexpensive things to reduce that issue (most expensive were outdoor blinds around the verandah) but for most of the year we just don't want to be out there. It is hard work to keep the plants going in summer, there is a lot of sand due to the difficulty in keeping lawn alive and it is just bloody hot. So, that's why I'm saying clean up, start gardening small and see how you go before committing to structures that might not address the real issues you have with the yard. Comments (2)Personally, it's better to have a wall between the bathroom and the toilet so no one gets walked in on. Definitely a good idea to keep the bath in case of reselling, although are you planning on going anywhere? If not, get rid of the bath and get a bigger shower I think....See More
12 months agoHow lovely your house looks, until you decide on a renovation why not just use the area you have, so many possibilities, clean it all out, pressure wash your tiles, they look in good condition you can add new furniture if you wish, some beautiful planters, using slats adds interest and style to the area, a side of house clothes line will free up the space beautifully.

Yes I have heard Airtasker is not what it says it is. Ask around your neighbours if they know of a trustworthy handyman who can help with the jobs you need doing. Also your local nursery probably have a list of people they recommend to help also. Just changes like adding stone pavers and stone mulch adds another look, lighting adds another dimension to the landscape and looks beautiful at night. You could have a spot for a fire pit if you like for more use in your garden. Wishing you much happiness in your new home.
