Putting plants in pots allows you to take them outside to get some extra sunlight Add some timber elements to up the natural feel. If planting in ground backfill with pebbles. And ensure the soil is appropriately conditioned before you plant and has adequate drainage. Given how titght the pace is I would use pots.
