Purple living space enhances the rustic detail and feel

Durch die farbige Gestaltung des großzügigen Durchganges und der Kopfwand im Esszimmer mit unserem natürlichen Marmorputz, der Vulkangestein und Metallglimmer beinhaltet, haben wir eine optische Verbindung des Wohn- und Essbereiches geschaffen. Der mittlere Anthrazitfarbton des Mineralputzes, die schwarzgraue Schiefer-Riemchenwand und die überwiegend in Schwarz/Weiß gehaltene Einrichtung, verbindet gekonnt das Wohnzimmer mit dem Esszimmer. Auf der Kopfwand im Esszimmer haben wir, in Anlehnung an die Designerstühle, eine Tapete mit florale Prägung gewählt. Diese wurde mit einer weißen Kalklasur veredelt. Die Edelstahl-Leuchten und -Accessoires runden das Erscheinungsbild ab und strahlen eine coole Eleganz aus. Fotografie: Markus Bollen

Design Penguin completely remodelled the sitting room in this Cornish cottage to turn it into a contemporary cinema room. Dark Farrow and Ball Brinjal walls, rich velvet Loaf sofa and gold wall lights add drama, with cast iron radiator and wooden flooring sympathetic to the original features of the room.

La bibliothèque sur-mesure vient se détacher sur un mur couleur lie de vin (Aventurer de chez Little Greene) et se lier avec les différents éléments de l'ancienne décoration. La contrainte était d'intégrer le tapis multicolore que la cliente avait fait réaliser sur-mesure il y a quelques années.

In March 2017 I was approached by a couple who had recently purchased a property in Lowther Village, a conservation village on the edge of the Lowther Castle estate. The property needed completely refurbishing before it could be used as a second home and holiday let. The property is grade II* listed and in addition to designing and project managing the refurbishment I obtained the listed building consent on their behalf. The application was submitted in May 2017 and approved at the end of July 2017. Work was completed in October 2017 and the property is now available for rental via Cumbrian Cottages.
