Située en région parisienne, Du ciel et du bois est le projet d’une maison éco-durable de 340 m² en ossature bois pour une famille. Elle se présente comme une architecture contemporaine, avec des volumes simples qui s’intègrent dans l’environnement sans rechercher un mimétisme. La peau des façades est rythmée par la pose du bardage, une stratégie pour enquêter la relation entre intérieur et extérieur, plein et vide, lumière et ombre. - Photo: © David Boureau

This living room showcases a harmonious balance between functionality and style, with a focus on rich colors and curated details. The built-in bookshelves, painted in a deep blue, frame the fireplace and extend into a connected space, providing ample storage and a cohesive design element. A modern green velvet armchair sits at the forefront, adding a vibrant contrast to the cool tones of the walls. The parquet flooring introduces warmth and texture, beautifully complemented by an intricately patterned rug. The seating arrangement includes a navy corner sofa in the adjoining area, paired with sleek, minimalist nesting tables. Overhead, a statement chandelier with spherical elements adds a touch of contemporary elegance. Decorative accents, such as the abstract artwork above the fireplace and carefully selected accessories, enhance the room’s refined yet inviting atmosphere.

An existing 1960’s property was completely modernised. The new zinc-clad bay windows have been orientated to optimise daylight and views across the stunning countryside whilst maintaining privacy. A beautiful polished concrete floor unites the entire ground floor.

Architectonicus

A contrast to the cosy snug, this second living room was light and airy and had fabulous views of the garden. To create that connection to the outside views I chose this lovely floaty fabric with leaf detail print and painted the walls a very pale grey green colour. It felt fresh and light.
