front-loading laundry on bottom with furniture like bi-fold doors, mirror above counter, glass or mirror as shown, could be in master bedroom suite where current closet is? Include deep sin/bar/laundry sink & countertop to make morning coffee?? OR on other side facing entryway for all to access as beverage station, with W/D beneath??
two chairs or love seat and chairs in front of full or partial wall of books...books could be on either side of windows too....BUILT IN WITH EXTRA INSULATION WHEN WINDOWS ARE REPLACED?
Old world style, so rich and warm, skip design on ceiling, just use warm color or gloss; rug, leather, and art are perfect!!

At one end of a large living room in this 19th century renovated carriage house, a bookshelf wall helps define and organize a cozy office space..Need desk/table for bill paying computer business.
green is relaxing...our ceilings are lower...drawers for files?
Might put corner bookshelf on each end of our large window, club chairs, Day Bed on entry wall, sliding TV wall adjoining living room, club chair facing lake?
