Kitchen Ideas
Style: The couple wanted the kitchen to have clean, sleek lines, but with some details that kept the room from feeling too perfect. The rustic rolling barn door and quirky pendants made from wine barrel straps helped them get that look. Layout: This image shows the barn door that leads to the butler’s pantry and its relationship to the galley-style kitchen. “A galley kitchen is technically the most efficient kitchen you can have,” says Shannon Demma, of Santa Cruz Design + Build. It’s also cost-effective, Demma says, since no specialized corner cabinetry units are required.Demma placed the sink on the island to create a prep zone separate from the range and oven. Ample counter abuts both sides of the cooktop, providing additional prep space perhaps for a second chef. The walkway between the island and the perimeter counter is a full 48 inches, so two people can comfortably pass.
