Landscaping
View from the north east window of the home, large hydrangea plants.
Another view from a northeast window of the house. Half a dozen peony plants grow between these trees in spring/summer.
Driving up to the home, view between the driveway and side of garage is a major eyesore we. are definitely looking to landscape. Ideas. have been a multi-stalk birch or white pine tree. to cover the utilities, ground cover, hostas, ferns. Some. boulders or. outcroppings seem to make sense here to help define the turn around and prevent people from driving into the landscaping.
Driving up to the house, a view from the driveway. We have mulched out a path/access road that connects to the kids' playground area, and reaches further around to the back of the home/pool area. The muddy area between the lawn and path needs work! Ideas include extending the lawn, adding ground cover such as ivy or dwarf mondo grass. Also needed is some way of. edging the path so it looks neater at the edges.
More views from the driveway approaching the home.
More views from the driveway approaching the home. Currently the gravel gets pushed. out to the sides a lot over the winter when we have. plow service. Not sure if there's anything we. can do to make the edge look neater that couldnt totally break the bank due to the long length of the driveway... about 200m.
Head of the Driveway, kind of a mess. Would be nice to do something here (eg boulder and a bush?)
If we used natural flagstone, I like the look of this large format. type, and grayish color resembling the existing cement paving.
Love the mondo grass carpet off the edge of the patio, under the tree.
Hakonechoa grass and pavers. :)
Love. the minimalist pavers/grass/crushed gravel.
Love. the grass under trees, at edge of patio, and the architectural quality of the tree branches.
Would love. to integrate some seating options. at strategic places (could be logs with a bench carved out, something like above, or a swinging bench)
Love the ferns bunched together with the minimalist paver patio,
This might be a nice more natural way to go on the north side of the home in the cleared area under the trees (as. opposed to adding more lawn grass).
Paver patio/grass
I like using the hakonechoa grass around the tree like this. We. have. a number of trees I would like to integrate border plants.
