bench...hooks...decor...shelf...bead board/wainscoting/shiplap...this is what I want for the entry wall (but less cluttered)...including some baskets at the ends...but the bench should be usable! Let the bead board/wainscoting/shiplap go all around the dining room too...Since all the way around, I think I would prefer vertical bead board/tongue-and-grove board or wainscoting over horizontal shiplap. But not full height of wall and so a trim piece at the top.

I hadn't been planning on it...but a simple rug (inexpensive) under the dining room table would set it off nicely! And the wainscoting!

something like this to hang on the entry wall perhaps with a frame that matches the wainscoting/tong-and-groove trim well...which that trim could be as simple as this.
