Kitchen
An interesting exercise. Some realizations:
+ not a fan of a cooktop on the island
+ have no idea what I would like for lighting but it appears that I am not a fan of pendant lighting but rather built-in ceiling lighting.
+ I've never had just a cooktop but given the preference of my wife to use the wall mounted oven we have today vs. the oven below the cooktop, I would expect that a wall mounted oven would be preferable although wall space is a premium.
+ I think I mentioned cabinetry a lot as well but I expect that's because I have a ton of space now and in this house there is little.
+ None of the kitchen's are fancy, they seem more about being functional. I don't think we want to make a statement but rather want something that is highly usable.
+ I don't need a refrigerator that blends in and is unseen (hidden by paneling).
+ Oh, and I love to grill. I think there is a nice place for my charcoal grill next to the garage on the other side of the walkway. And going through the garage is not a big deal. That is to say, I don't think we need to have a door to the outside from the kitchen.

So far, this is my favorite. Hanging pots above sink. wood surfaces on either side of cook top. stone surfaces at the island cook top hood is simple and not too ornate My wife will really like the oven at hip heigh and not below the cooktop. Refrigerator is big but not massive. Not sure what the item is below the counter to the right of the refrigerator. I hope it's not a microwave. I like the farm sink but I'm sure my wife would not like a double bay sink. We have a double bay sink now and she says she wished she had just one big sink. A nice mix of stainless and simple white cabinetry.
Faucet at the cooktop!! Wife has talked about it for many years.
