Use of color (walls), vintage wood pieces (kitchen, bedrooms)
Reflects options I'm considering: wood floors, white clean-lined cabinetry and counters that lean gray (these are probably too white for me). Ultimately, my kitchen will contain painted walls, likely including yellow.
Darker butcher block island counter, stone-look tile floors with white (or pale dove gray) cabinets, white sink counter.
White oak floors through kitchen, dining and living areas; white kitchen cabinets and counters. The dark accents (gray to black) on cabinet pulls, table and backsplash work well.
Concept of tin tiles behind stove. Metal is a nice neutral, plus relatively easy to clean.
Love the color, especially plaid.
Interesting concept to use unpainted wood (stained?) beadboard for backsplash. Offers nice contrast and warmth when paired with a rich color such as the red shown. Could also work with a green.

I really like the combo of lines, colors and materials -- Shaker-style doors, black countertop, chrome handles. The accent lighting makes a great color pop/contrast.
How beautiful is this? The mix of materials and textures — brick, wood, gilt frame of mirror, marble counters, floor tile (with just a dash of color) — makes the space warm and wonderful.
