Toni McCormick, these are all very good points! I don’t know if we’re just naive or if things are done differently where we live, but they usually bid on the whole job, so material waste, breaks etc are what they are. It’s super difficult to find contractors, and if you have a decent one they’re always busy and you’re just glad that they show up. (We learned that up in the mtns where we are ”first thing tomorrow” can mean 11 AM; they leave at 4, so that makes for a short work day.)

Don’t let someone decide what you should and should not do in your home. You need to give yourself the time and last say in determining how your home should look.
