Peter Rymwid Photgraphy Beautifully classic two toned kitchen using rift cut white oak cabinetry on the perimeter with a moss green painted island combine to create a warm inviting kitchen for family and friends. A large doubled sided fireplace keeps the home fires burning. Natural slate tile on the back splash and a copper farm sink add textural details. This warm and inviting kitchen pays homage to the craftsmanship of american made cabinets. Each detail works together to paint a vivid picture of the room known as the "heart of the home". Every view gives the eye something to enjoy from the beautiful stone tile splash to the rubbed bronze hardware.

A classic 1925 Colonial Revival bungalow in the Jefferson Park neighborhood of Los Angeles restored and enlarged by Tim Braseth of ArtCraft Homes completed in 2013. Originally a 2 bed/1 bathroom house, it was enlarged with the addition of a master suite for a total of 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. Original vintage details such as a Batchelder tile fireplace with flanking built-ins and original oak flooring are complemented by an all-new vintage-style kitchen with butcher block countertops, hex-tiled bathrooms with beadboard wainscoting and subway tile showers, and French doors leading to a redwood deck overlooking a fully-fenced and gated backyard. The new master retreat features a vaulted ceiling, oversized walk-in closet, and French doors to the backyard deck. Remodeled by ArtCraft Homes. Kitchen by Ikea. Staged by ArtCraft Collection. Photography by Larry Underhill.

The square island is not large but holds a wine-rack, trash pullout, and a microwave shelf. The skylight is covered with a vintage stained glass panel which makes it look appropriate to an older home. A mix of upper cabinets to the ceiling, and floating open shelving completes the vintage/modern mix of styles. Pendant lighting throughout.

A corroded pipe in the 2nd floor bathroom was the original prompt to begin extensive updates on this 109 year old heritage home in Elbow Park. This craftsman home was build in 1912 and consisted of scattered design ideas that lacked continuity. In order to steward the original character and design of this home while creating effective new layouts, we found ourselves faced with extensive challenges including electrical upgrades, flooring height differences, and wall changes. This home now features a timeless kitchen, site finished oak hardwood through out, 2 updated bathrooms, and a staircase relocation to improve traffic flow. The opportunity to repurpose exterior brick that was salvaged during a 1960 addition to the home provided charming new backsplash in the kitchen and walk in pantry.
