Master bath with tumbled marble

The door is 150 years old. We had layers of paint removed, but we left some of the finish. We had it sealed because we were concerned about any traces of lead left behind. Photography: Philip Ennis Productions.

A distressed cottage located on the West River in Maryland was transformed into a quaint yet modern home. A coastal theme reverberated through the house to create a soothing aesthetic that will inspire it's homeowners and guests for years to come. The goal of this bath was to create a spa-like feel. Opting for the dominant color of white accented by sage green contributed to the successful outcome. A 54” white vanity with double sinks topped with Carrera marble continued the monochromatic color scheme. The Eva collection of Moen brand fixtures in a brushed nickel finish were selected for the faucet, towel ring, paper holder, and towel bars. Double bands of glass mosaic tile and niche backing accented the 3x6 Brennero Carrera tile on the shower walls. A Moentrol valve faucet was installed in the shower in order to have force and flow balance.
