Edina Master bathroom renovation

Light and Airy shiplap bathroom was the dream for this hard working couple. The goal was to totally re-create a space that was both beautiful, that made sense functionally and a place to remind the clients of their vacation time. A peaceful oasis. We knew we wanted to use tile that looks like shiplap. A cost effective way to create a timeless look. By cladding the entire tub shower wall it really looks more like real shiplap planked walls. The center point of the room is the new window and two new rustic beams. Centered in the beams is the rustic chandelier. In this master bath, we were able to install the Kohler Lithocast memoirs freestanding tub. Along with custom made floating shelves.

A subtle color palette and warm wood define the master bath vanities. Quiet sophistication and luxury at the double vanities prevails.

Small master bathroom renovation. Justin and Kelley wanted me to make the shower bigger by removing a partition wall and by taking space from a closet behind the shower wall. Also, I added hidden medicine cabinets behind the apparent hanging mirrors.

This custom-made laundry chute is one of many unique features in this space. Made entirely of walnut, this framed door was designed with soft-close hinges and fit perfectly between the 12x12 tiles.

Great design makes all the difference - bold material choices were just what was needed to give this little bathroom some BIG personality! Our clients wanted a dark, moody vibe, but had always heard that using dark colors in a small space would only make it feel smaller. Not true! Introducing a larger vanity cabinet with more storage and replacing the tub with an expansive walk-in shower immediately made the space feel larger, without any structural alterations. We went with a dark graphite tile that had a mix of texture on the walls and in the shower, but then anchored the space with white shiplap on the upper portion of the walls and a graphic floor tile (with mostly white and light gray tones). This technique of balancing dark tones with lighter tones is key to achieving those moody vibes, without creeping into cavernous territory. Subtle gray/blue/green tones on the vanity blend in well, but still pop in the space, and matte black fixtures add fantastic contrast to really finish off the whole look!

This small 4'x6' bathroom was originally created converting 2 closets in this 1890 historic house into a kids bathroom with a small tub, toilet and really small sink. Gutted the bathroom and created a curb less shower. Installed a wall mount faucet and larger vessel sink with vanity. Used white subway tile for shower and waincotting behind sink and toilet. Added shiplap on remaining walls. Installed a marble shelf over sink and toilet. Installed new window and door casings to match the old house moldings. Added crown molding. Installed a recessed light/fan over shower. Installed a chandelier and lighted mirror over sink/toilet. Edina Master bathroom renovation

This Grant Park house was built in 1999. With that said, this bathroom was dated, builder grade with a tiny shower (3 ft x 3 ft) and a large jacuzzi-style 90s tub. The client was interested in a much larger shower, and he really wanted a sauna if squeeze it in there. Because this bathroom was tight, I decided we could potentially go into the large walk-in closet and expand to include a sauna. The client was looking for a refreshing coastal theme, a feel good space that was completely different than what existed.
