The second-floor bath in this Brooklyn brownstone was a complete gut job. We covered 3 quarters of the walls in large-scale marble tile—but the glass enclosed shower features a pony wall of marble tile that continues onto the shower walls and ceiling. A vessel sink sits atop a white-granite vanity / countertop that's large enough to accommodate an adjacent sitting area. A huge freestanding soaking tub remains separate from the shower—we really made the most of this space without having to make major structural changes. Black hex tile with white grout covers the floor.

By blocking up the two windows on this wall allowed us to install a long window to light the bath area. The use of marble tiles laid in a herringbone pattern adds an interesting dimension to the vanity area. Pink basins on a slim white Corian bench top ties the vanity area to the pink hexagon feature wall.

The original Art Nouveau stained glass windows were a striking element of the room, and informed the dramatic choice of colour for the vanity and upper walls, in conjunction with the terrazzo flooring.

Ultimate Kitchens & Bathrooms
This bathroom is situated on the second floor of an apartment overlooking Albert Park Beach. The bathroom has a window view and the owners wanted to ensure a relaxed feeling was created in this space drawing on the elements of the ocean, with the organic forms. Raw materials like the pebble stone floor, concrete basins and bath were carefully selected to blend seamlessly and create a muted colour palette.
Tactile forms engage the user in an environment that is atypical to the clinical/ white space most expect. The pebble floor, with the addition of under floor heating, adds a sensory element pertaining to a day spa.
