On the second floor, a new family bathroom was designed. Our client loved to have long baths while having a glass of wine so the bathroom was designed to fulfil her wishes with a lovely free standing bath and some close shelving.

This powder room is a great example that a dark color can be used in a small room. Darkness brings a warm and rich effect. -- Cette salle d'eau est un bel exemple qu'une couleur foncée peut être utilisée dans une petite pièce. Le foncé apporte un effet chaleureux et riche.

Dans la continuité des autres pièces de cet appartement, nous avons choisi une couleur bleu électrique pour la peinture des WC.

This 1907 home in the Ericsson neighborhood of South Minneapolis needed some love. A tiny, nearly unfunctional kitchen and leaking bathroom were ready for updates. The homeowners wanted to embrace their heritage, and also have a simple and sustainable space for their family to grow. The new spaces meld the home’s traditional elements with Traditional Scandinavian design influences. In the kitchen, a wall was opened to the dining room for natural light to carry between rooms and to create the appearance of space. Traditional Shaker style/flush inset custom white cabinetry with paneled front appliances were designed for a clean aesthetic. Custom recycled glass countertops, white subway tile, Kohler sink and faucet, beadboard ceilings, and refinished existing hardwood floors complete the kitchen after all new electrical and plumbing. In the bathroom, we were limited by space! After discussing the homeowners’ use of space, the decision was made to eliminate the existing tub for a new walk-in shower. By installing a curbless shower drain, floating sink and shelving, and wall-hung toilet; Castle was able to maximize floor space! White cabinetry, Kohler fixtures, and custom recycled glass countertops were carried upstairs to connect to the main floor remodel. White and black porcelain hex floors, marble accents, and oversized white tile on the walls perfect the space for a clean and minimal look, without losing its traditional roots! We love the black accents in the bathroom, including black edge on the shower niche and pops of black hex on the floors. L’élégance et l’originalité sont à l’honneur.  Il s’agit d’une de nos plus belles réalisations. La singularité était le maître mot du projet. Une cuisine tout de noir vêtue avec son robinet d’or, une suite verte et graphique connectée à une SDB généreuse et rose poudrée.

The larger front guest ensuite had space for a walk in shower and bath. We installed these on a risen platform with a fall and drainage so that there was no need for a shower screen creating a "wet area". To maintain a traditional feeling, we added bespoke panelling with hidden storage above the wall mounted toilet. This was all made in our workshop and then hand painted on site. The Shaker style bespoke vanity unit is composed of solid oak drawers with dovetail joints. The worktop is composite stone making it resistant and easy to clean. The taps and shower column are Samuel Heath, toilet Burlington and a lovely freestanding Victoria and Albert bath completes the traditional mood. The tiles are marble with hand crafted ceramic tiles on the back wall.
