Master Suite Addition to 1920's Spanish Home in Sherman Oaks

Master suite addition to an existing 20's Spanish home in the heart of Sherman Oaks, approx. 300+ sq. added to this 1300sq. home to provide the needed master bedroom suite. the large 14' by 14' bedroom has a 1 lite French door to the back yard and a large window allowing much needed natural light, the new hardwood floors were matched to the existing wood flooring of the house, a Spanish style arch was done at the entrance to the master bedroom to conform with the rest of the architectural style of the home. The master bathroom on the other hand was designed with a Scandinavian style mixed with Modern wall mounted toilet to preserve space and to allow a clean look, an amazing gloss finish freestanding vanity unit boasting wall mounted faucets and a whole wall tiled with 2x10 subway tile in a herringbone pattern. For the floor tile we used 8x8 hand painted cement tile laid in a pattern pre determined prior to installation. The wall mounted toilet has a huge open niche above it with a marble shelf to be used for decoration. The huge shower boasts 2x10 herringbone pattern subway tile, a side to side niche with a marble shelf, the same marble material was also used for the shower step to give a clean look and act as a trim between the 8x8 cement tiles and the bark hex tile in the shower pan. Notice the hidden drain in the center with tile inserts and the great modern plumbing fixtures in an old work antique bronze finish. A walk-in closet was constructed as well to allow the much needed storage space.

- Как пространство было зонировано? Какими способами Вы пользовались? - Прихожая с большим зеркальным шкафом-купе. Этот шкаф вдвое увеличивает ее площадь. Зеркало на кухне также вдове увеличивает ее размер и продлевает пространство. Спальня-гостиная с визуально присоединенной лоджией. Лоджия отделена всего лишь окном в пол, половина которого всегда открыта. Т.е. они кажется частью спальни. А текстиль на лоджии дополнительно это подчеркивает. Поддон из плитки в санузле и встроенный в пол слив, плюс полностью стеклянно ограждение - все сделано для сохранения пространства. Master bathroom design & build in Houston Texas. This master bathroom was custom designed specifically for our client. She wanted a luxurious bathroom with lots of detail, down to the last finish. Our original design had satin brass sink and shower fixtures. The client loved the satin brass plumbing fixtures, but was a bit apprehensive going with the satin brass plumbing fixtures. Feeling it would lock her down for a long commitment. So we worked a design out that allowed us to mix metal finishes. This way our client could have the satin brass look without the commitment of the plumbing fixtures. We started mixing metals by presenting a chandelier made by Curry & Company, the "Zenda Orb Chandelier" that has a mix of silver and gold. From there we added the satin brass, large round bar pulls, by "Lewis Dolin" and the satin brass door knobs from Emtek. We also suspended a gold mirror in the window of the makeup station. We used a waterjet marble from Tilebar, called "Abernethy Marble." The cobalt blue interior doors leading into the Master Bath set the gold fixtures just right.

Exquisite slim profile Vola fittings and fixtures, gorgeous sculptural ceiling light and John Cullen spot lights with led alcove lighting. The floating shelf created from diamond mitrered Concrete effect tiles amd cut through floor to ceiling glass detail, giving the illusion of a seperate space in the room. Soft calming colours and textures to create a room for relaxing and oppulent sancturay. Lutron dimmable mood lighting all controlled by Crestron which has been installed in this stunning projects interior.

In order to maximise the space in a bathroom we tried to keep floor area as clean and minimalistic as possible. Wall mounted toilet and vanity-unit open floor area visually expanding the space. Large slabs of porcelain and slim shower tray bring neat contemporary finish. Mirror hides recessed wall cabinet above the toilet and double the space.

A radical remodel of a modest beach bungalow originally built in 1913 and relocated in 1920 to its current location, blocks from the ocean. The exterior of the Bay Street Residence remains true to form, preserving its inherent street presence. The interior has been fully renovated to create a streamline connection between each interior space and the rear yard. The master bath was designed to create a calm and serene space for the owners. The large soaking tub and steam shower are the main focal points but the floor to ceiling tile walls, suspended double vanity with tall mirrors and wall sconces are a close second. The shower curbless with zero entry clearance and a long suspended bench.

A European modern interpretation to a standard 8'x5' bathroom with a touch of mid-century color scheme for warmth. large format porcelain tile (72x30) was used both for the walls and for the floor. A 3D tile was used for the center wall for accent / focal point. Wall mounted toilet were used to save space. The in-wall toilet system framing enclosure was extruded out 6" allowing a wonderful opportunity to build a custom-made cabinet and an open square shelf. The shower is curb less, so the entire bathroom floor was waterproofed. Large format tile shower floor required a custom cut to allow correct water sloping.
