Architect: Michelle Penn, AIA This traditional European Romantic style home was designed to be mainstream, but is also a high tech, super efficient home. It is a Net Zero home that produces as much energy as it uses in a year. We wanted to make a compact plan so the walk-in shower is just the right size! Not to big, not too small! The previous bathroom had an awkward linen closet that jutted into the room. We removed the closet, extended the vanity, added a linen cabinet, replaced the drop-in tub with a wonderful freestanding, and replaced the old premade shower with gorgeous pebble and porcelain tile.

A 19x19 V-stone Nut in the color Cross Matte was chosen for the floor tile, as well as the shower walls and ceiling tile. The Sliced Green Ocean Stones sliced pebbles from Tesoro was used on the shower floor, inside the shower niche and for a vertical decorative panel. The spacious shower features a corner seat, secondary showerhead and frameless glass hinged door.

We created a gorgeous master bedroom with attached private bathroom, featuring a luxurious double-sized rain shower. The bed lifts up hydraulically to reveal storage space beneath, and the painting conceals a hidden flatscreen TV. Designed and built by Paul Lafrance Design.

The alcove shower includes a built-in seat and foot rests. Porcelain Italian rectangular tile is used with a pebbles tiled accent border installed vertically on floor to ceiling walls. The custom frameless shower door is by Reflections Glassworks with brushed nickel hardware and Moen "Voss" faucetry. A skylight provides natural light into this master bathroom.
