While the majority of APD designs are created to meet the specific and unique needs of the client, this whole home remodel was completed in partnership with Black Sheep Construction as a high end house flip. From space planning to cabinet design, finishes to fixtures, appliances to plumbing, cabinet finish to hardware, paint to stone, siding to roofing; Amy created a design plan within the contractor’s remodel budget focusing on the details that would be important to the future home owner. What was a single story house that had fallen out of repair became a stunning Pacific Northwest modern lodge nestled in the woods!

This welcoming Craftsman style home features an angled garage, statement fireplace, open floor plan, and a partly finished basement.

We designed the shower to have the side wall tile installed straight, and the back wall to have a herringbone pattern for interest.

Make way for the bold and the beautiful! The floral-inspired deep blue and white hexagon floor pattern sets the stage for our high variation sea of blue subway tile on this bathroom's walls. This Cardiff home remodel truly captures the relaxed elegance that this homeowner desired. The kitchen, though small in size, is the center point of this home and is situated between a formal dining room and the living room. The selection of a gorgeous blue-grey color for the lower cabinetry gives a subtle, yet impactful pop of color. Paired with white upper cabinets, beautiful tile selections, and top of the line JennAir appliances, the look is modern and bright. A custom hood and appliance panels provide rich detail while the gold pulls and plumbing fixtures are on trend and look perfect in this space. The fireplace in the family room also got updated with a beautiful new stone surround. Finally, the master bathroom was updated to be a serene, spa-like retreat. Featuring a spacious double vanity with stunning mirrors and fixtures, large walk-in shower, and gorgeous soaking bath as the jewel of this space. Soothing hues of sea-green glass tiles create interest and texture, giving the space the ultimate coastal chic aesthetic.

Jack and Jill Shower

Simple, tactile and statement. This top floor room had plenty of natural light thanks to the Velux windows. Finishes were a massive part of the interest in this bathroom. The room was so bright anyway, so we thought we’d have fun and play with the black fittings, brushed copper brassware and concrete basin, tying it all together with the most fabulous porcelain terrazzo effect tile. Prior to the renovation, the space wasn’t being used to its best. There were lots of empty areas where product just fitted but didn’t add anything to the room and the Velux windows felt as though they were an issue rather than becoming part of the space.

Design Craft Maple frameless Brookhill door with flat center panel in Frappe Classic paint vanity with a white solid cultured marble countertop with two Wave bowls and 4” high backsplash. Moen Eva collection includes faucets, towel bars, paper holder and vanity light. Kohler comfort height toilet and Sterling Vikrell shower unit. On the floor is 8x8 decorative Glazzio Positano Cottage tile.

This project was a joy to work on, as we married our firm’s modern design aesthetic with the client’s more traditional and rustic taste. We gave new life to all three bathrooms in her home, making better use of the space in the powder bathroom, optimizing the layout for a brother & sister to share a hall bath, and updating the primary bathroom with a large curbless walk-in shower and luxurious clawfoot tub. Though each bathroom has its own personality, we kept the palette cohesive throughout all three.
