The Oddingsells House master bath previously featured an oversized jetted tub that overwhelmed the small shower and vanity space. These outdated components were removed to enlarge the space and accommodate a new glass-walled shower, custom vanity with an engineered quartz countertop, and porcelain tile, all chosen to complement the historical features of the home. The clients were keen to keep upheaval to a minimum so we kept the existing layout, meaning there was no need to relocate the services and cutting down the time that the bathroom was out of action. Underfloor heating was installed to free up wall space in this bijou bathroom, and plentiful bespoke and hidden storage was fitted to help the clients keep the space looking neat. The clients had a selection of existing items they wanted to make use of, including a mirror and some offcuts from their kitchen worktop. We LOVE a no-waste challenge around here, so we had the mirror re-sprayed to match the lampshades, and had the offcuts re-worked into the surface and splash back of the vanity.

We know the world works in mysterious ways – we were reminded of this when two very distinct clients paired feature green subway tiles with a terrazzo looking floor tile AT THE SAME TIME with black tap ware and wooden vanities. We claim credit in the plumbing, carpentry, waterproofing and tiling, but not the design. Our preferred marine grade tiled shower base was installed onto substrate flooring. The vanity and bath plumbing were both reconfigured to suit the new layout. Plantation blinds have since been installed to round off this lovely bathroom.

A small cottage bathroom was enlarged to incorporate a freestanding shower bath, painted to match the beautiful Peacock Blue furniture.
