ATIID collaborated with these homeowners to curate new furnishings throughout the home while their down-to-the studs, raise-the-roof renovation, designed by Chambers Design, was underway. Pattern and color were everything to the owners, and classic “Americana” colors with a modern twist appear in the formal dining room, great room with gorgeous new screen porch, and the primary bedroom. Custom bedding that marries not-so-traditional checks and florals invites guests into each sumptuously layered bed. Vintage and contemporary area rugs in wool and jute provide color and warmth, grounding each space. Bold wallpapers were introduced in the powder and guest bathrooms, and custom draperies layered with natural fiber roman shades ala Cindy’s Window Fashions inspire the palettes and draw the eye out to the natural beauty beyond. Luxury abounds in each bathroom with gleaming chrome fixtures and classic finishes. A magnetic shade of blue paint envelops the gourmet kitchen and a buttery yellow creates a happy basement laundry room. Monochromatic theme continues into the master bathroom. Tranquil place to start and end your day.

The hall bath was reorganized slightly. For years, the toilet greeted you as the first view as you ascended the stairs from the first floor. The toilet is now rotated 90 degrees. and the window was relocated from the original back of the house where the primary bathroom is to the side of the house. The original medicine chest/mirror was re-finished and a 60" vanity with storage replaced the pedestal sink that served the family of 5 for years. The same floors and color scheme was used in both the newly renovated hall bath and the Primary Bath...keeping the vocabulary of the relatively small home consistent. Waterworks facets complete the look and honor the period of the home.

This traditional primary bath is just what the client had in mind. The changes included separating the vanities to his and hers, moving the shower to the opposite wall and adding the freestanding tub. The details gave the traditional look the client wanted in the space including double stack crown, framing around the mirrors, mullions in the doors with mirrors, and feet at the bottom of the vanities. The beaded inset cabinets with glass knobs also added to make the space feel clean and special. To keep the palate clean we kept the cabinetry a soft neutral and white quartz counter and and tile in the shower. The floor tile in marble with the beige square matched perfectly with the neutral theme.
