2011 EcoHome Design Award Winner Key to the successful design were the homeowner priorities of family health, energy performance, and optimizing the walk-to-town construction site. To maintain health and air quality, the home features a fresh air ventilation system with energy recovery, a whole house HEPA filtration system, radiant & radiator heating distribution, and low/no VOC materials. The home’s energy performance focuses on passive heating/cooling techniques, natural daylighting, an improved building envelope, and efficient mechanical systems, collectively achieving overall energy performance of 50% better than code. To address the site opportunities, the home utilizes a footprint that maximizes southern exposure in the rear while still capturing the park view in the front. This truly unique shower has ceiling mounted rain head and a wall mounted rain head shower, The Brazilian Black granite shower seat contrasts the textured glass dot glass doors. The subway tile completes the retro look of this bathroom.

A complete renovation of this master bathroom took it from old, dated and damaged to a sophisticated and elegant spa-like retreat! Marble tile installed in a herringbone pattern set the tone for elegance. Lovely pedestal tub, copper sinks, unique lighting and plumbing fixtures add unexpected details.

The Illusion of a Waterfall! Client requested a Spa-like/Zen-aesthetic ensuite bathroom with influences of Vintage Farmhouse. Many desires in a very small space. Working with her tile choices, I added a rustic-looking rain shower to create a cohesive design that affords a feeling of calm serenity. We also added the "waterfall" feel to the tiles and glass block for aestethic appeal.

The pocket door and flush threshold allow a wheel chair user to more easily access the bathroom. By cantilevering the vanity the chair can better access the small space. Sink and faucet by Hans Grohe.
