This bathroom includes a standing shower with a sliding door and wall mounted toilet. ABOUT THE ALBUM: We worked with our close friends to help revamp a property featuring 3 bathrooms. In this album, we show you the result of a master bathroom, guest bathroom, and a tiny bathroom to help give you inspiration for your next bathroom remodeling project. Our master bathroom features the Alexander 60-inch vanity in a natural finish. This modern vanity comes with two under mount sinks with a Carrara marble top sourced from Italy. The vanity is a furniture piece against a vibrant and eclectic jade-colored tiling with an open shower, porcelain toilet, and home decor accents. The guest bathroom features another modern piece, our Wilson 36-inch vanity in a natural finish. The Wilson matches the master in the wood-finishing. It is a single sink with a Carrara marble top sourced from Italy. This bathroom features a full bath tub and a half shower. Our final bathroom is placed in the kitchen. With that, we decided to go for a more monochromatic look. We went with our Cooper 18-inch vanity, a slim vanity for space saving that features a porcelain sink that's placed on top of the vanity. The vanity itself also doubles as a shelving unit to store amenities. This bathroom features a porcelain toilet and a half shower. This powder bathroom features a cement tile floor, custom reclaimed wood vanity, white marble countertop, under-mount sink, matte black lighting and plumbing fixtures plus a black feature wall.

Facelift to this bathroom included removal of an internal wall that was dividing the vanity area from the toilet \ shower area. A huge shower was constructed instead (4.5' by 6.5') the vanity was slightly moved to allow enough space for a wall mounted toilet to be constructed. 1920's hand painted concrete tiles were used for the floor to give the contrast to the modern look of the toilet and shower, black hexagon tiles for the shower pan and the interior of the shampoo niche and large white subway tiles for the shower wall. The bench and the base of the niche are done with a 1 piece of Quartz material for a sleek and clean look. The vanity is a furniture style with storage underneath and Carrera marble on top. All the plumbing fixtures are by Kohler with a vibrant modern gold finish.

To create enough room to add a dual vanity, Blackline integrated an adjacent closet and borrowed some square footage from an existing closet to the space. The new modern vanity includes stained walnut flat panel cabinets and is topped with white Quartz and matte black fixtures.

This year might just be the year of the bathrooms. Since January, I have been working on six different bathroom projects. They range from full to partial renovation projects. I recently finished the design plans for the three bathrooms at the #themanchesterflip. I have also worked on a very cool master bathroom design project that has been approved and the work is scheduled to start by March. And then, there were the two fulls baths from #clientkoko that are now completed. Today I am happy to share the first one of them.

1 Collect Bathroom Ideas to Decide on Your Layout

Firstly, consider your space. Is it rectangular or are you working with a long, narrow room? This will determine how many wet walls you can accommodate, and if a bathtub can fit. For example, in a narrow room a freestanding bathtub may not work, and a one-wall layout that lines up shower, toilet and vanity on the same wall will make sense in most cases. (It’s also the most budget-friendly option in terms of plumbing). Maybe separate rooms for toilet and shower make sense? Maybe you want to work with a window above a bathtub or in the shower. You may live in an old house where you can keep some of the original character of the home, or you may be working with a small apartment space. All these considerations are vital in deciding on which layout will work best for you. Have a look at some popular ideas to get started.

2 Consider How You Use Your Bathroom

Once you’ve gathered some inspiration, have a think about who is using the room, and how they will be using it. A single guy needs a lot less storage than a teenage girl, and a family bathroom may need to consider elderly family members. Making your bathroom wheelchair accessible could save you thousands down the line. You may also want to accommodate a washer and dryer in the bathroom, since it’s where clothes are taken off frequently. Also consider safety and cleaning. Ensure no-one will slip and hurt themselves, and consider that many little tiles will make for many little nooks for grime to accumulate, whereas big surfaces like a sink that is integrated with the vanity counter, or a big mirror will make wiping down the surface much easier than having sinks sitting on top or an intricately designed mirror.

3 Your Style Determines The Colours and Fixtures You Choose

When looking at bathroom photos on Houzz, you’ll probably lean towards a certain style pretty soon. Are you into rustic charm, modern beach house style or a mix of styles? You may want to consider a wooden floor for something different and pair it with simple white vanity and cabinets, or you may want to go for the steampunk look with bronze tubes and black walls. Consider what type of shower, bathtub (if any), toilet, sink and vanity you want. Maybe you have space for a generous spa with walk-in shower, or maybe you want a freestanding bath to be the feature of the room.
