Traditional Master Bathroom Update

Our clients wanted to renovate their dated bathroom. On their wish list was a larger shower, linen closet, better lighting, using a modern farmhouse style that felt luxurious. We moved the small shower out of the corner, and made it the focal point in the room. We used penny rounds on the shower floor, bronze plumbing, and hand made elongated subway tiles. A deep gray grout shows off each tile. The old shower became the new linen closet.

The existing garden tub was outdated. We decided to go with a more sleeker, modern drop-in tub. Great for deep-soaking and giving that true spa feeling.

In this century home we moved the toilet area to create an area for a larger tiled shower. The vanity installed is Waypoint LivingSpaces 650F Cherry Java with a toilet topper cabinet. The countertop, shower curb and shower seat is Eternia Quartz in Edmonton color. A Kohler Fairfax collection in oil rubbed bronze includes the faucet, towel bar, towel holder, toilet paper holder, and grab bars. The toilet is Kohler Cimmarron comfort height in white. In the shower, the floor and partial shower tile is 12x12 Slaty, multi-color. On the floor is Slaty 2x2 mosaic multi-color tile. And on the partial walls is 3x12 vintage subway tile.

The La Cantera master bathroom is a bright, airy space with natural and inset lighting. His and her skins on either end of the bathroom give the homeowners maximum counter and personal storage space. Large mirrors surrounded by herringbone marble tiles seamlessly flows downward to the herringbone ceramic tiles. In the center of the bathroom are the overhead shower and freestanding bathtub. What makes a bathroom accessible depends on the needs of the person using it, which is why we offer many custom options. In this case, a difficult to enter drop-in tub and a tiny separate shower stall were replaced with a walk-in shower complete with multiple grab bars, shower seat, and an adjustable hand shower. For every challenge, we found an elegant solution, like placing the shower controls within easy reach of the seat. Along with modern updates to the rest of the bathroom, we created an inviting space that's easy and enjoyable for everyone.

The tile selections from MSI are both a practical and stylish element of this design with Dymo Stripe White 12 x 24 glossy tile on the shower walls, Bianco Dolomite Pinwheel polished tile for the niche, and Georama Grigio polished tile for the shower floor. The bathroom floor is Bianco Dolomite 12 x 24 polished tile. Every element of this bathroom design works together to create a stunning, vibrant space.
