Custom cabinetry, mirror frames, trim and railing was built around the Asian inspired theme of this large spa-like master bath. A custom deck with custom railing was built to house the large Japanese soaker bath. The tub deck and countertops are a dramatic granite which compliments the cherry cabinetry and stone vessels.

The colour scheme of grey and aubergine allowed us to use practical yet interesting textiles such as grey concrete effect tiles with the painted walls in Pelt by Farrow & Ball. The wall mounted bath spout creates a waterfall effect when cascading into the deep bath adding a luxurious, tranquil and organic feel to help alleviate the stresses of the day.

This 1968 single story bungalow had great bones but serious design and storage issues. The kitchen had a drop ceiling and a door that lead into the guest bedroom. The peninsula and cabinet overhang made the kitchen feel small and crowded. A few too many DIY projects made for a mess of style! The bathrooms had never been updated, the closets were in the wrong spots and all the lighting fixtures were dated. A face lift was in order!

Downsizing doesn’t have to mean compromising. This master bath remodel proved to be quite the opposite. The homeowners’ wish list was actually exceeded. Wish we could say that for every project! Not only did the new design accomplish the generous his and her vanities and large shower they desired, but we were able to achieve a semi-private water closet by incorporating a tall armoire, providing extra storage as a bonus. Some aging in place features were added without detracting from the beauty. The finished room feels spacious and bright. Thompson Remodeling updated this master bath by removing an existing garden tub and replacing it with a tiled, walk-in shower. The new shower features a tile accent wall and details, soap and shampoo niches, and a bench. Other updates include the new cultured marble countertop with ceramic tile backsplash and tile flooring. Here, you see a new built in for storage situated next to the shower.
