A "Home" should be the physical 'representation' of an individual's or several individuals' personalities. That is exactly what we achieved with this project. After presenting us with an amazing collection of mood boards with everything they aspirated to, we took onboard the core of what was being asked and ran with it. We ended up gutting out the whole flat and re-designing a new layout that allowed for daylight, intimacy, colour, texture, glamour, luxury and so much attention to detail. All the joinery is bespoke. Old world style French Country Cottage Farmhouse featuring carved wood moldings and glass and ceramic tile. Kitchen with natural edge slate floors, limestone backsplashes, silver freestanding tub in master bath. Beautiful classic style, will not go out of style. We like to design appropriate to the home, keeping out of trending styles. Handpainted range hood and cabinetry. Project designed by Auriel Entrekin of Maraya Interior Design. From their beautiful resort town of Ojai, they serve clients in Montecito, Hope Ranch, Santa Ynez, Malibu and Calabasas, across the tri-county area of Santa Barbara, Solvang, Hope Ranch, Olivos and Montecito, south to Hidden Hills and Calabasas.

The large, open corner shower was created as a spa walk-in space. The Bisazza glass mosaic floor tile was used in the accessory niche as an accent. The walls in the shower are slab man-made material allowing a visually clean look to balance other textures. An added bonus is not having to worry about cleaning and performance of the grout on the walls over time. The two clearstory windows were incorporated to add outside light into the shower space.

Bright and contemporary guest bath with penny round glass tiles in iridescent greens and corals

On the shore of Lake Ontario, adjacent to a large wetland, this residence merges ecological design and logical planning with a contemporary style that takes cues from the local agrarian architecture. Four interconnected buildings evocative of an evolved farmhouse separate public and private activities, while also creating a series of external courtyards. The materials, organization of structures and framed views from the residence are experienced as a series of juxtapositions: tradition and innovation, building and landscape, shelter and exposure. This 1940's era bathroom was remodeled and updated. Gas wall heater was removed. New custom floating cabinets replaced the old cabinets. All electrical and plumbing was updated, including Electric Mirror lighted mirrors for the best grooming light. An overhanging lavatory allows for a narrower cabinet in a small space. Linear limestone tiles add a touch of luxury as does the green and copper graphic wallcovering and glass tile accents. Clay Bostian, Creative Photography
