When I came to stage and photoshoot the space my clients let the photographer know there wasn't a room in the whole house PID didn't do something in. When I asked why they originally contacted me they reminded me it was for a cracked tile in their owner's suite bathroom. We all had a good laugh. Tschida Construction tackled the construction end and helped remodel three bathrooms, stair railing update, kitchen update, laundry room remodel with Custom cabinets from Pro Design, and new paint and lights throughout. Their house no longer feels straight out of 1995 and has them so proud of their new spaces. That is such a good feeling as an Interior Designer and Remodeler to know you made a difference in how someone feels about the place they call home.

This spacious primary bathroom transformed from drab and dark to a refreshed, bright bathroom. Simply removing the dropped ceiling and fluorescent lights from the vanity area and replacing them with modern recessed can light brought this bathroom back to life. The carpet that once draped the floor was replaced by a gray wood-like vinyl plank which transitioned beautifully to the calcatta tiled shower. The dated vanity that once housed two sinks was updated to white custom-made cabinetry topped with a white with subtle veining Arabescato quartz countertop. A linen closet replaced the second vanity sink, providing ample storage space. Polished nickel finishes repeat about from the Hydrorail shower fixtures to the sink faucets. Two contemporary sconce lights a stylish mirror balance and adorns the focal wall. To create harmony within the bathroom and the rest of the house, we kept contrast to a minimum, using hints of color to create accents.

This spacious grey toned Master Bathroom remodel features a walk-in shower, dual vanity with hutch, and a separate double hamper cabinet to keep laundry concealed. Tile work used was a 12" x 24 porcelain on the walls, glass linear mosaic accent and pebble tile floor in the shower.

Black & White Boho Bathroom

Kowalske Kitchen & Bath was hired as the bathroom remodeling contractor for this Delafield master bath and closet. This black and white boho bathrooom has industrial touches and warm wood accents. The original space was like a labyrinth, with a complicated layout of walls and doors. The homeowners wanted to improve the functionality and modernize the space. The main entry of the bathroom/closet was a single door that lead to the vanity. Around the left was the closet and around the right was the rest of the bathroom. The bathroom area consisted of two separate closets, a bathtub/shower combo, a small walk-in shower and a toilet. To fix the choppy layout, we separated the two spaces with separate doors – one to the master closet and one to the bathroom. We installed pocket doors for each doorway to keep a streamlined look and save space. BLACK & WHITE BOHO BATHROOM This master bath is a light, airy space with a boho vibe. The couple opted for a large walk-in shower featuring a Dreamline Shower enclosure. Moving the shower to the corner gave us room for a black vanity, quartz counters, two sinks, and plenty of storage and counter space. The toilet is tucked in the far corner behind a half wall. BOHO DESIGN The design is contemporary and features black and white finishes. We used a white cararra marble hexagon tile for the backsplash and the shower floor. The Hinkley light fixtures are matte black and chrome. The space is warmed up with luxury vinyl plank wood flooring and a teak shelf in the shower. 1 Collect Bathroom Ideas to Decide on Your Layout

Firstly, consider your space. Is it rectangular or are you working with a long, narrow room? This will determine how many wet walls you can accommodate, and if a bathtub can fit. For example, in a narrow room a freestanding bathtub may not work, and a one-wall layout that lines up shower, toilet and vanity on the same wall will make sense in most cases. (It’s also the most budget-friendly option in terms of plumbing). Maybe separate rooms for toilet and shower make sense? Maybe you want to work with a window above a bathtub or in the shower. You may live in an old house where you can keep some of the original character of the home, or you may be working with a small apartment space. 2 Consider How You Use Your Bathroom

Once you’ve gathered some inspiration, have a think about who is using the room, and how they will be using it. A single guy needs a lot less storage than a teenage girl, and a family bathroom may need to consider elderly family members. Making your bathroom wheelchair accessible could save you thousands down the line. You may also want to accommodate a washer and dryer in the bathroom, since it’s where clothes are taken off frequently. Also consider safety and cleaning. Ensure no-one will slip and hurt themselves, and consider that many little tiles will make for many little nooks for grime to accumulate, whereas big surfaces like a sink that is integrated with the vanity counter, or a big mirror will make wiping down the surface much easier than having sinks sitting on top or an intricately designed mirror.

3 Your Style Determines The Colours and Fixtures You Choose
