Ensuite bathroom - Loft conversion

We re-designed and renovated three bathrooms and a laundry/mudroom in this builder-grade tract home. All finishes were carefully sourced, and all millwork was designed and custom-built.

This bathroom remodel came together absolutely beautifully with the coved cabinets and stone benchtop introducing calm into the space.

The blue painted door echoes the vanity, while a creatively utilized cavity offers additional storage.

The ensuite shower room features herringbone zellige tiles with a bold zigzag floor tile. The walls are finished in sage green which is complemented by the pink concrete basin.

Delivering what the client asked for, Blackline Renovations created a visually stunning bathroom with high impact finishes. By removing a wall and an unused linen cabinet, we were able to install a larger, more functional linen cabinet that was painted a vibrant blue and designed to match the original beadboard wainscotting and trim.

We planned a thoughtful redesign of this beautiful home while retaining many of the existing features. We wanted this house to feel the immediacy of its environment. So we carried the exterior front entry style into the interiors, too, as a way to bring the beautiful outdoors in. In addition, we added patios to all the bedrooms to make them feel much bigger. Luckily for us, our temperate California climate makes it possible for the patios to be used consistently throughout the year. The original kitchen design did not have exposed beams, but we decided to replicate the motif of the 30" living room beams in the kitchen as well, making it one of our favorite details of the house. To make the kitchen more functional, we added a second island allowing us to separate kitchen tasks. The sink island works as a food prep area, and the bar island is for mail, crafts, and quick snacks. We designed the primary bedroom as a relaxation sanctuary – something we highly recommend to all parents. It features some of our favorite things: a cognac leather reading chair next to a fireplace, Scottish plaid fabrics, a vegetable dye rug, art from our favorite cities, and goofy portraits of the kids. --- Project designed by Courtney Thomas Design in La Cañada. This bathroom was updated with a Waypoint 410S Painted Stone Door vanity with matching medicine cabinet. Quartz on the vanity with 4” back and end splash and includes the shower threshold. 12x24 field tile for the main floor and shower walls and mosaic tile for the shower floor and niche were installed. Moen Voss Collection in Brushed Nickel includes faucet, toilet paper holder, towel ring, towel bar, shower head/faucet and toilet tank lever. A Kohler Wellworth 2 piece toilet in white. Includes a new bypass shower clear ¼” door with Brushed Nickel finish.

Unique to this bathroom is the singular wall hung vanity wall. Horizontal bamboo mixed perfectly with the oversized porcelain tiles, clean white quartz countertops and black fixtures. Backlit vanity mirrors kept the minimalistic design intact.
