We were excited to take on this master bathroom remodel for a young couple looking to update their recently purchased condo on the water in Playa Del Rey. They were looking for a modern version of the classic his and hers bathroom complete with double shower and colors inspired by the nearby Pacific Ocean. Located on the top floor of their building the master bathroom features a sky light allowing for natural light. The true double shower features a Kohler shower tower with built in body sprayers, hand held and dual shower heads. Unique to this design is that the double shower also features dual shower benches. There are even two shower niches to ensure that both sides are equal. Marble was used throughout the shower and bathroom. Above the commode is a floating toiletry cabinet mounted to the wall. All of the cabinetry is espresso. The bottom of the cabinet allows for open shelving. The his and hers vanities are separated by a full height center linen closet and drawers. Since wall space was at a premium, towel rings were mounted to the cabinetry and an integrated towel bar is on the shower door. Robe hooks hang on the glass shower walls. The walls of the bathroom are green with an accent tile separating the marble wainscoting. The accent tiles are an ocean themed blue / green mix. The bathroom is finished off with a pocket door.

A modern graphic B&W marble anchors the primary bedroom’s en suite bathroom. Gucci heron wallpaper wrap the walls and a vintage vanity table of Macasser Ebony sits adjacent to the new cantilever vanity sinks. A custom colored claw foot tub sits below the window.

One of three bathrooms completed in this home. This bathroom serves as the guest bath, located on the first floor between the office/guest space and kitchen. Marble tiles and subtle green hues make a great impression and tie with the cool calming colors used on the first floor. Wall niches, hotel rack, and medicine cabinet help to maximize storage for guests without overcrowding the room. Wainscoting and decorative trim were paired with modern fixtures to marry traditional charm with contemporary feel.

This crisp, bright Master bathroom once had a cultured marble built-in tub, an enclosed shower, an unused seated make up area at the vanity and no door going into the bedroom. We demoed the shower and tub and started over! The Signature Hardware Leith freestanding tub opened up and updated the bathroom immensely. We installed Vicostone Statuario bathroom counter tops and all new Quality cabinets with a cotton paint. We opened up the once enclosed shower by demoing the full wall into a pony wall and installing glass to the upper portion, along with a frameless glass door. Naos Blanco 12"x24" large tile was used for the majority of the shower walls with a feature using 3"x6" Biltmore marble subway tile installed vertically creating a wow factor for this once dark enclosed shower. The shower floor is the same Biltmore tumbled polished tile but 2"x2" square. The existing glass in the three windows behind the tub were changed for a more updated look. We added new lighting, mirrors and polished chrome faucets and hardware that really brighten up the space even more. Designed by Dave Wilhide of Reico Kitchen & Bath in Woodbridge, VA in collaboration with Professional Home Improvements, this bathroom remodel features a transitional style inspired bathroom design. The bathroom cabinets are Merillat Classic in the Glenrock door style in a Cotton finish. The bathroom vanity top is a MSI Carrera Lumos quartz countertop. The bathroom also includes Meram Blanc Carrara tile for the shower floor, baseboard and tub wall tile; Seta shower wall tile; and Home Choice Ash floor tile. “I am not one to like change. So when we decided to completely remodel our bathroom, it was a challenge,” said the client. “There are just so many options and it is easy to become overwhelmed. That is why we chose Reico to help.
