Clients wanted to keep a powder room on the first floor and desired to relocate it away from kitchen and update the look. We needed to minimize the powder room footprint and tuck it into a service area instead of an open public area. We minimize the footprint and tucked the PR across from the basement stair which created a small ancillary room and buffer between the adjacent rooms. We used a small wall hung basin to make the small room feel larger by exposing more of the floor footprint. Wainscot paneling was installed to create balance, scale and contrasting finishes. The new powder room exudes simple elegance from the polished nickel hardware, rich contrast and delicate accent lighting. The space is comfortable in scale and leaves you with a sense of eloquence. The powder room has a beautiful sculptural mirror that complements the mercury glass hanging pendant lights. The chevron tiled backsplash adds visual interest while creating a focal wall.

Thibaut Medallion Paisley wallpaper adds a blast of color and drama to the small powder room. Trim paint is Benjamin Moore-Boca Raton. The existing faucet was replaced with the French-inspired satin brass fixture from Newport Brass. The 3 light vanity sconce adds an architectural detail and the medallion on the brass mirror echoes the design motif of the paper.

WE LOVE TO DO UP THE POWDER ROOM, THIS IS ALWAYS A FUN SPACE TO PLAY WITH, AND IN THIS DESIGN WE WENT MOODY AND MODER. ADDING THE DARK TILES BEHIND THE TOILET, AND PAIRING THAT WITH THE DARK PENDANT LIGHT, AND THE THICKER EDGE DETAIL ON THE VANITY CREATES A SPACE THAT IS EASILY MAINTAINED AND ALSO BEAUTIFUL FOR YEARS TO COME!
