The wall color here is where we really found a success. We went with a light, natural blue.

The master bathroom features a stone slab shower floor and shower wall. The dark stone slab is balanced with a light matte concrete wall above it. The floor of the bathroom is reclaimed wide plank flooring in a Chevron pattern. The fixtures are wall mount fixtures from lefroy brooks. The guest bath was remodeled with a beautiful design with custom white vanity with a farmhouse sink, mirror, and lighting. We used Quartz for the countertop. The built-in vanity was shaker style. The tile was from porcelain to match the overall color theme. The bathroom also includes a one-pieces toilet. The flooring was from hardwood with the same brown color to match the overall color theme.

Lattice wallpaper is a show stopper in this small powder bath. An antique wash basin from the original cottage in the cottage on the property gives the vessel sink and tall faucet a great home. Hand painted flower vases flank the coordinating mirror that was also painted Dress Blues by Sherwin Williams like the Basin.

The Lake Blue Leaves tiles are the focus and drama for the powder room.

David Reeve Architectural Photography; The Village of Chevy Chase is an eclectic mix of early-20th century homes, set within a heavily-treed romantic landscape. The Zantzinger Residence reflects the spirit of the period: it is a center-hall dwelling, but not quite symmetrical, and is covered with large-scale siding and heavy roof overhangs. The delicately-columned front porch sports a Chippendale railing. The family needed to update the home to meet its needs: new gathering spaces, an enlarged kitchen, and a Master Bedroom suite. The solution includes a two story addition to one side, balancing an existing addition on the other. To the rear, a new one story addition with one continuous roof shelters an outdoor porch and the kitchen. The kitchen itself is wrapped in glass on three sides, and is centered upon a counter-height table, used for both food preparation and eating. For daily living and entertaining, it has become an important center to the house.
